Meal Ministry

Meal MinistryBefore His death on the cross, Jesus left His disciples with a "new commandment".  In John 13:34-35 He says, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”  This commandment was not new in the sense that it wasn't commanded in the Old Testament (Leviticus 19:18), but in the sense that Jesus' disciples were to now imitate the love that He had shown them.  Because Jesus had sacrificially loved them in His life (John 13:1-19) and death (1 John 4:10) as their substitute, they were now to follow His example and love one another sacrificially.  The completed work of Jesus in His life, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension is the motivation behind all of the good works that we do out of love for Him and one another (Romans 12:1-21).

To that end, we seek to love one another in very tangible ways (Matthew 25:34-50, James 2:15-17).  One such way is by providing meals for families in our church when they are ill.  We invite you to serve the body of Christ in this way by using the links below to either create a meal plan for someone in need, or signing up to bring a meal.
