Our Priorities in Children's Ministry

Sovereign Grace Church is thankful to God for His gift of children. We believe our children should be raised in the fear and admonition of the Lord. We also believe that parents are primarily responsible for discipling their children. So, it is our desire to train men to be the fathers God has called them to be. This is our first priority in children's ministry. Our second priority in children's ministry is to see our children become involved in the life of the body. We desire to see them fully participating in corporate worship. Our third priority is to provide quality, age appropriate, biblical education for our children. It is our desire to supplement the training in Scripture parents are doing at home.

Our Programs in Children's Ministry

Infants and Toddlers: We are committed to providing a safe, clean, and godly environment for our 0-3 year olds during our Sunday service. We have a staff of incredible volunteers who provide quality care and love to each of the babies and toddlers who come on Sunday mornings. We provide this for the duration of the worship service. All children will need to be registered and signed in at the registration table in the church foyer each Sunday morning prior to being dropped off in the Nursery. You can be assured that your child will be well cared for and prayed for every Sunday.

Children (4-11 year olds): We are committed to providing quality instruction for our 4-11 year olds during our Sunday services. We have multiple volunteers who prepare strong God-centered lessons for our children. We currently have four classes for this age group. We have one class for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten age children, one class for 1st and 2nd graders, one class for 3rd and 4th graders, and one class for 5th and 6th graders. The children are excused and taken to their classes by the teachers prior to the sermon. They are led back into the service by the teachers prior to the end of the service. All children will need to be registered and signed in at the registration table in the church foyer each Sunday morning prior to being excused for Sunday School.

Children / Youth (12-17 year olds): We are committed to seeing our older children become involved in the regular life of the body. We believe it is best for them to worship with their parents and to sit under the preaching of the Word. Therefore, we do not provide alternatives for them during the service. It is our hope, however, to continue to develop programs for our older children and youth at varying times during the week.
